I woke up to a steady cold rain, the kind that gives you a reprieve from attempting to amuse yourself outside of the house because it is more pleasant to turn on the heat, sit by the window with something warm to drink and watch the raindrops pelt the gold-tinged leaves of the gingko trees outside.  The cat is happy to have a companion for his usual solitude and there are books to page through lazily and small pleasures to be unearthed in haunting your own house on an otherwise dreary Saturday.
